First Camping Trip of the Season

Last weekend, Wyatt and I went up to Flatirons with my dad, my sister, her son, my brother, his wife, and my other nephew. It was for my sister's son, Alex, birthday and they decided to celebrate it at Flatirons. We weren't originally invited so we planned on just coming up there to visit on Friday night and then head back down to town after. Dad ended up saying that we could stay with them the whole time they were up there. So Wyatt and I liked that idea so we headed back to town to get a tent and clothes to bring back up with us. We went to K-Mart but the cheap tent was gone and the next cheapest tent was $60!!! I wasn't going to spend that so we decided just to sleep in my car.
When we got back to the campsite, Nate, my brother, said he had a screen tent that we could sleep in so that is what we did. The tent was one of those screen tents that you put around a picnic table to keep the bugs out so there isn't a tarp on the bottom of it. We just slept on our blankets underneath that.
Before we went to bed, Nate and my dad were hitting the drinks kind of hard and they were both a bit drunk. Which is quite funny because I have never really seen either of them drunk. There is a dock at Flatirons and the family was hanging out at the dock for most of the day. Dad lost his alcohol Solo cup so he thought that it might still be at the dock. Nate, Dad, and I walked up to the dock to check it out but there was no cup and Dad being drunk, was chatting up the nice family trying to fish. Nate and I had to try and qoux him away from them because I am sure he was annoying. When we got back to the site, Dad got a new cup and then continued to drink. After drinking all of the vodka in the bottle, Dad had to pee so he went to the nasty outhouse campsite bathrooms. While in there, apparently there was a huge bug that kept buzzing around him, 'trying to give him a blowjob'. So when Dad got back, he ranted about the bug wanting to give him a blowjob for about 10 minutes until he settled down into his chair.
While we were all sitting around the picnic table talking, Nikki, my sister, was telling her dog, Buddy, "Oh the tangled web you weave" because he apparently had to pee and was getting his leash all tangled up on the bottoms of the chairs. I just thought that the way she said it was hilarious!

The next day, Dad, Wyatt, and I went back to town. Wyatt had to do things with his gran but my dad and I were going to try and find us a tent. We didn't end up finding a tent but we did get a blow-up mattress to sleep on in the screen tent. It turns out that Nikki has a tent that she is going to let us have. Wyatt and I already had plans to hang out with his friends at North Shore Park by Loveland Lake. When we got there a little bit late, there were only two people there and neither of which were the people having the party; they ended up being an hour or so late. While at the park I saw a baby squirel that had the tiniest tail ever! It was adorable.
When we got back to the campsite, it was so bloody hot that I was begging the family to head to Carter Lake so I could go swimming. I finally convinced Nikki, Alex, Hunter, Heather, and Nate to come with me and Wyatt. The water was great but I ended up having to go braless and wear short shorts in front of my family because I went swimming in my clothes. It was a bit awkward but luckly it was sort of dark. I hope you enjoy the pictures above.

What's Next?

As some of you may know, my best friend since kindergarten, Emily, decided at the beginning of second semester senior year, that she wasn't going to associate with me and left me with one true friend, Wyatt. With having only two classes second semester this loss of a friendship was painfully obvious for me when Wyatt was busy or hanging out with his friends. I have tried to win herback but she is just not having it. Everyone tells me to just make more friends but the friends from work, I am slowly learning that all they seem to want to do is drink. I really want a friend that is into the same stuff as me and that doesn't do drugs or drink. The problem with that is that how many young adults are into antiques  and going to thrift stores and flea markets and DON'T do drugs. Let's count together.....well....1...me....2...Wyatt. Huge numbers people!
Then, to set it all off a bit to freak me out a bit more, I lost my job in April. I have had that job since February of my sophomore year so I have been working the majority of my teen life. I am not entirely sure what to do with myself now that school is released FOREVER, I don't want to go to college so I don't have that to dread or look forward to, I am lacking friends, I am lacking motivation to do anything, I am overwhelmed by my hoarding problem, and now Wyatt had a job. I am forever grateful that Wyatt has a job though! Don't get me wrong on that, I just wish I wasn't going to sit on the couch all day and watch T.V. and play on Pinterest all day. My goal is to make art for a living. I have a brilliant idea to make wedding cake toppers out of vintage things and make them unique so that creative people can have awesome toppers as well. I have a lot of supplies for the toppers but I am missing bits and pieces of what I need. I have ideas but when I try to get things from my 'studio' I start to freak out and get frustrated by the large pile of shit in the corner that I call a studio. I have also tried to do my altered wedding book. Fun thing about that is that I can't find the DAMN BOOK that I already started. Pretty awesome. It is probably in my room but that is WAY too much shit to process and makes me have the rage so I don't even want to make it anymore. I need some help. Bulldoser???? Please comment and tell me if any of you have any ideas of how to motivate me. Or even write me on my Facebook because Blogger isn't user friendly.

Happy Leon Day!

As some of you may know, it is Leon Day. Which is the word 'noel' spelt backwards and that means that Christmas is exactly six months away. I want to make this season wonderful so I am starting to plan it now. I was looking up some ideas and I found a cookie swap, using old Christmas cards as decorations, and other fun ideas like that. I am game for all of those ideas but my favorite part of it all is the vintage decorations. I want to have a vintage decoration swap or even a handmade decoration swap. If any of you readers out there want to join this, please let me know so we can start hunting, creating, and then eventually swapping. Let's make this year glorious! I will get those camping trip pictures posted shortly! Hope all is well with all of you!

Drive- In, Lake, and Thrift Store Fun

We went to the drive- in again last night! We saw Madagascar 3 and Men in Black 3 which were both amazing movies. However, this trip was extremely hot because it was roughly 85 degrees still at nine thirty at night. Plus, the fire was only a few miles away so that increased the heat as well as provided some nasty smoke! Since earlier in the day I had a headache, I was super sensitive to getting the headache again and the flavored water we bought at Wal-Mart gave me a headache. Wyatt, being the wonderful boyfriend he is, bought me a Coke float and himself a hot dog and cotton candy. I just took these two pictures to show you how sexy he was posing on his own and I mean just look at his butt!

Since I drag Wyatt around to all kinds of flea markets and thrift stores we try to make it fun for the both of us. I find it amusing to put hats on Wyatt and then take pictures of them. Above is a vintage pill box style hat with a veil. Below he is wearing a bonnet sort of hat with a veil as well. Doesn't he look adorable?!

Even though we go to the drive- in and thrift stores a lot, we enjoy kicking it at the lake in our free time. Above is a picture of Wyatt, bending over, try to get out of the sun, being cute and all.

Aren't we a cute but strange couple?? Haha! Wyatt is being a weirdo.

Friday June 15th, 2012

Yesterday was an amazing day for me and Wyatt. In the morning, Wyatt came over around 8 and we went all around Loveland garage saling in hopes of finding items to make cake toppers out of as well as just cool stuff. We were trying to conserve gas by not using the air conditioning so we had the windows open. As we drove by a lawn in a neighborhood by the hospital, the sprinkler came in and hit me in the face. It was probably the funniest thing that has happened to me in a while! Not to mention, I got donuts out of the deal! At King Soopers I had a raised donut with sugar on it and Wyatt had a maple raised donut with sprinkles on it.
Now as some of you may know, I used to live in a mobile home when I was little. We moved out of there in the summer between third grade and fourth grade. While garage saling, we stumbled upon this gorgeous mobile home park that was full of old people, well kept lawns, vintage cars, and attached garages. At the first garage sale within the neighborhood, I bought a gorgeous Sorreto inlaid wooden octagon music box that plays "Isles of Capri" for a dollar. I looked it up and found similar boxes going for a minimum of $150 and goes up to $400. What a deal I got! The next garage sale we stopped at had vintage Fenton dishes and a vintage Fenton carnival cake plate. Everything there was beyond the amount of money in my wallet. A few houses down, we stopped at a sale where the lady running it asked, "are you brother and sister or husband and wife?" Apparently we just look like we are married because we have been asked that so many times. When we walked away from the same sale, she asked, "when is the wedding?" I replied with a, "whenever he asks."
I ended up with a gorgeous box, two teacups, a china saucer, a stone coaster, Enesco music player thing, present for Ron, vintage brownie dish, plastic dinosaurs, and a lovely locket from my boyfriend.
Later that day, after we napped because we were exhausted from running around in the morning, we went to the lake and walked around before we had to go pick up Thomas and go to the laser tag. We wanted to go in the water so badly but we didn't have enough time and we also didn't have swimsuits.
Laser tag was lots of fun! I haven't been laser tagging since I was a freshmen and it was actually fairly fun except for the Aliens vs. Predators games. I ended up meeting a whole bunch of Wyatt's friends and really seemed to connect with one of his friends, Carissa. The party was for his friend Cody and he is back from the military for a month. In the morning, he proposed to his girlfriend, Cynthia, so when they got there, everyone was hugging them and in awe over the ring. Carissa is also engaged to EJ so there are now two engaged couples in his group. I went on a limb and played dodge ball with the friends and happened to get hit in the face. It hurt a bit and sort of annoyed to me. The last game was A vs. P and I was so tired of being killed and not being able to aim and hit people that I just decided to give up. I stood in a corner near the door you leave laser tag out of. One of the guys that works there came up to me and asked me if I was okay. I told him that I was bored of  it and that I really just came to be with Wyatt. He said he would hug me but he isn't allowed to. It was sweet he even cared. In all, it was a great time and I look forward to hanging out with his friends some other time. Perhaps, they will eventually become mine.
