The Christmas Season has come and passed

The Christmas Season is something you can't reproduce. The feeling is just in the air and everyone knows it. However, this year, it just simply wasn't there. I was not the only person to feel this way. However, this is quite a let down for me because I tried very hard to make it feel the way it is supposed to. The picture below is of one of the hallways at my school. The lights were hanging from the ceiling. In the main hall, there was red and green paper over the lights and had color lights hanging from the ceiling as well. It was amazing if you ask me! Since my dad was going to Texas for this year's Christmas, my dad's side of the family had to do Christmas at an earlier date. We chose to do Christmas on the 18th of December. I brought the family chicken noodles to the event; of which the noodles were handmade by me and my boyfriend, Wyatt. Since there was a lot of leftover dough for the noodles that wouldn't cut into noodles, rather than eating it raw I decided to make fun shapes like Christmas trees. I only made a few of them but they brought some festiveness to the noodles.Since my dad was going to be in Texas for Christmas, I was at my mom's house for the entire time. I have never been at my mom's house for the entire Christmas. It was a bit strange but far less stressful that it usually is. Below is a picture of the Christmas tree we decorated at my mom's house. Ron, my step dad, won't allow us to have fake trees so this is a real tree which made the house smell wonderful.
Even though the main tree at my mom's isn't a fake tree, Wyatt and I have four fake Christmas trees. The 6' green tree was my first tree and next came the 4' green tree. After I got those, I got the miniature tinsel tree which is like 2'. The best tree, however, is the 6' vintage aluminum tree that Wyatt and I got together. They all look magnificent together with the vintage ornaments on them.
Along with vintage trees and ornaments, we have a large collection of vintage Santas. I have gotten a pretty good deals on the Santas but they are worth quite a bit more. In the decorations we used for Christmas, we also used things that were already in the room. For instance, we used the green glasses and some of the pictures already located on the mantel in our design. However, we added some Santas, and interesting Christmas plush items along with it. We also have an advent calendar located on the fireplace. Here are some if the presents that I got from my mom's side of the family. I got some more vintage little knee-hugging elves, ribbon, the movie Amelie, the movie Suckerpunch, noodle cutters, and a soldering torch.

Here is a different view of the presents however this one shows the antique photo album that I got from my grandma that has pictures of relatives in it.Here is a picture of the presents I received from my best friend, Emily, and my boyfriend, Wyatt. I got the Betseyville purse with the Ariel bubble bath from Emily and the Volbeat CD, skull duct tape, and Misfits lanyard from Wyatt. I really enjoyed all of these presents.
These pictures are of the presents that I got from my dad's side of the family. I got the 'KASS' cards made from the architectural finds. I also got some drill bits, an elf tree topper, scary family picture in a gorgeous frame, a soldering torch, a $25 visa gift card, and some vintage lace cardigan type things.

This view also show the Peeps, corn salt n' pepper shakers, and a purse I got for Christmas.

It's Beginning to Look a lot like Christmas!!!

Hey everyone!!!! Wanna help my hometown thrive?? Check out my blog, http://savelovelandarts.blogspot.com/ and Facebook, http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Save-Loveland-Arts/126272720818185
If you enjoy what you see, please follow us and 'like' us!!! It would be much appreciated!
So, yesterday I hung out with my amazing boyfriend, Wyatt Robert Lintz! We ended up going to the flea markets in hopes of finding small items to put in each other's advent calendars. Well, we did just that! However, when we got back to my place, after we put away all the items in their proper area, we sat down on the couch to watch some Nightmare Before Christmas. While sitting there, he said that he wanted to give me something that was supposed to be in my advent calendar but wasn't. I had no idea what he was referring to so I just kept asking what it is. We eventually got on this tangent that he bought a small little gun and was going to kill me. However, when he told me to turn around, he wrapped his arms around me, and placed a gorgeous ring on my left hand. I kissed him so much with delight! He said that this ring is just a pre- engagement ring but I believe it is more beautiful than any other engagement ring.

I hope that everyone is having a fabulous day!

Thanksgiving Break

My Thanksgiving was a pretty good one this year. I went over to my dad's house along with my boyfriend, Wyatt, and we had the usual feast. My nephew, Alex, was pretty sure that he was going to be the champ of eating the family Chicken Noodles. However, that is not so. I still hold the title. It was quite a nice effort though. After we all stuffed our faced full of food, we played the game with the wrapped gift. If you don't know, that game involves a group of people trying to open the present that has been wrapped in roughly five layers and taped with packaging tape. However, if that doesn't seem to be complicated enough, you have to wear oven mitts. You have as long as it takes for the next person to roll doubles on the dice to open the gift. Dad wrapped this one pretty good this year!!! It took a group of my sister, Nikki (super competitive), Nathan (fairly competitive because Nikki pushes him), Alex (not really playing at all, mainly taking pictures), my brother, Nate (not super competitive), Heather (not competitive), Gwyn (fairly competitive), me (slightly competitive), Wyatt (not really competitive), Hunter (competitive), Dad (the helper and competitive),Sherry (competitive), June (not competitive), Carol (very competitive), and lastly Rich (not competitive), forty- five minutes to unwrap this gift completely. The inside prize was a flashlight that could have a small light or a large light on it; it was pretty cool. After stuffing my face, playing the game, and then eating pie, I was pretty sure that I was going to explode. I believe that most of the family felt that way.

My Black Friday started early for me this year. My Black Friday started at nine thirty on Thanksgiving evening when we ventured to Wal- Mart to endure the crowds. I stood in line with Wyatt to get two new laptops while Ronifer was in line for a new t.v. and my mom roamed about the store trying to find other good deals to snag. We ended up getting everything we came for plus five or so movies; which were on sale for $1.97 a piece!

Friday I worked along with Saturday and Sunday. So my weekend ended up being fairly boring and tiring. I hope all of you had a spectacular break as well!

A Wonderful Day thanks to Wyatt!

Yesterday was probably the most wonderful day of my entire life! I woke up in a fairly good mood which is not unusual, but the staying there part is what is unusual. In my first class I had to make a presentation which I thought went very well. Then, I had a silly lunch with my best friend, Emily. After lunch comes metals, and Eli soldered my box for me so that made me extra happy! Metals is my last class of the day so afterwards I walk my friend to her class and then go out the band doors to my car. I did nothing different yesterday than I normally do, however, this time there was a bouquet of a dozen, red roses; a handwritten note; and a super cute invitation to go on a date with Wyatt written on the windows of my car. The picture below is what I saw at first when I walked up to my car. This is what Wyatt wrote on the windows of my car.
These are the adorable question marks on the side of my windshield.

The roses before I took them out of the plastic and put them in a vase.

The roses after I put them in a vase at home.

Not only did the roses and excitement make my day, but when I got home I decided to go all the way back to 29th street and go to Noble House. My plan for that being that I buy some stones to take a few of and then donate the rest of them to my metals class. The man that runs Noble House has known all about this since the summer and has already talked to my metals teacher. However, they just came up with a plan where the students get good deals on the stones and not necessarily get to choose from them at a school setting. I have found that most kids don't have money to go to Noble House and buy stones even though they are cheap. Noble House ended up giving me twenty stones to donate to my class! It was extremely nice of them!! I am going to make a thank you card and have people in metals sign it.

Went to the dollar store, and the checker complemented the necklace that I was wearing. That make me very happy! Then, on the way home, Blind Melon came on the radio as well as The Black Keys.
I waited for a few hours and then Wyatt showed up to my house to pick me up for the date. Ron was busy so we had to go find him so that he could meet Wyatt. The date was not awkward at all like normal first dates are! At Olive Garden, they offered us wine which we didn't take because we aren't old enough. The waitress also asked us if this is a special occasion and she mentioned a date night out, sort of hinting that we have been together for a long time. But nope, it is our first date. Afterwards, we drove to the mall and walked around. It was very dead in there and so we ended up leaving just to go drive around in the town. We drove around and talked to each other and bonded. I had a wonderful time!!! Thank you Wyatt!

The Date

Last night I went on my first REAL date!!!! I asked him out however. Curious how??? Well, I am going to tell you. On Saturday night this kid from my work experience came to Rocky Horror Picture Show at my theatre. Since I am in the host of Rocky Horror, I have to tell people what they can have and what they can't in the theatre before the movie starts. I went up there and told all of the audience that they can't have water guns because we want to keep nice screens and they can't have fire because for some reason AMC doesn't want us to burn the building down. Then, I said, "Warren, will you go on a date with me?" He said yes! I was so excited at everyone cheered as I walked up the aisle to go out of the theatre. I was blushing so much! He eventually came out and said that he was trying to find a way to ask me out. That made me happy to hear that. This moment completely made my day!
During class, we decided that the date was going to be Tuesday night at 3 Margaritas in Loveland at 6. He was EARLY! Which is a huge brownie point for him in my book. When we walked up to the front door of the restaurant, he HELD THE DOOR for me when I walked in. We got our seats and then looked at the menu. I got the Colorado Burrito and he got a chicken burrito. Mine was delicious! We talked and I thought that I paced myself on the burrito but our date only lasted 30 minutes tops. Not sure how that happened. It was wonderful none the less though.

The DATE!!!

I hope everyone had a fantastic Halloween weekend! I was hosting Rocky Horror Picture Show Friday night, Saturday night, worked Sunday, and hosted again Monday night. Not going to lie, I did freak out and have a mental break down. I sort of ruined the experience for a few of my co-workers. I am very sorry for that Sam, Shane, and Chelsea. At least I got some of the trees cleaned up from the heavy ass snow!
However, the best part of my weekend was when I asked out this kid named Warren! I sit next to him in my work experience class and we occasionally talk to each other, however, he has shown up to Rocky Horror the last few time which I think is pretty amazing. Warren is an IB kid (in a super smart advanced learning experience) and plays a lot of video games so I hope we find something in common except for Rocky Horror. I am slightly worried that the date will be awkward. Maybe it will be good awkward.... Anyways, I am super excited about it. It is at Three Margaritas! I haven't been there in forever! Plus, I think that was the same place that my step dad and mom had their first date together and they are the happiest couple I know. Maybe it will work out in our favor. Only time will tell!
I hope everyone's Halloween was safe and enjoyable! Have a wonderful day!

ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW

These are some of the pictures I took at the showing of Rocky Horror Picture Show at my theatre on Friday night. This first picture is of the back row that we had blocked off with caution tape so that we could put the laser lights and strobe lights back there. We ended up having to get rid of those because we sold so many tickets we needed those seats. This is the up-close picture of the goodies that we provided to the Party crew. We had toast, newspaper, toilet paper, glow sticks, party blow horns, and rice. The props were gone fairly fast.
This is the end of the hallway with all of the props on the table.

This is the sign that hangs between the two doors to the theatre. Enter at your own risk!!!

Here is Shane standing next to the wall with all of the character portraits on it. This month was supposed to be Steampunk themed so Shane made cardboard gears that he hung from the ceiling in the shape of an arrow directed towards the theatre where Rocky Horror was playing. They looked great!

This is the sign that I bought online for my theatre to hang in the window during the nights of Rocky Horror Picture Show. I think that it looks pretty awesome!

Fix the Broken

I have been thinking about my life as a whole. So far, it is not going how I want it to. But really, who is to blame but myself? Absolutely no one. I think I need to look at my life and edit some things and add others. Do I really need so many collections? No. Are they making me really happy? No. Is my dad really, truly happy? No. Do I want to follow in his path or learn from his examples? Learn from his examples. For most of my life, I have been very dead set on having a boyfriend to spend my time with. Now that I have been single, I am finding out how much I enjoy having other's company and miss being in a relationship. But really what am I looking for in this relationship? Am I looking for someone that will replace my dad when he is gone? Yes. Is that wrong? No. I need to find someone with the qualities I admire in my dad yet have something else going for them. I need to branch out of my 'safety zone' that I have created.
Now tell me, is finding someone online really all that bad? My mom met my stepdad online and they are PERFECT for each other. I think we have just become a society that is afraid of what the internet can make people do as well as disguise what they have done. People lie to your face anyways. I think that people are truthfully more of themselves online than they are in person. It is decided, I am going to move to Australia to go to college. I am going to make something of myself. I am going to reinvent my image of myself. I don't especially care what anyone thinks of this idea because in the end, I will do what I want, and life really is about doing things for yourself. Just watch me everyone!!

It is Beginning to look a lot like HALLOWEEN!

The stores are filled with pumpkins, corn, orange and brown leaves, piled ontop of displays and shelves. This year marks the year anniversary of my theatre showing Rocky Horror Picture Show! This year we have some goodies planned for everyone that shows up. It is going to be a blast for sure!!! This month's theme is Steampunk so grab your goggles, polish your gears, and tighten your corsets and head out to the show. The tickets are only $3 so buy them before we run out. The festivites start at around 10 pm so get there early and make sure to participate. We will be having a pumpkin painting contest, a Rocky Horror Trivia, and a costume contest. Be there or be square.

Well anyways, what plans do all of you have for the fall season?? Are you making any carmeled apples, or carving pumpkins? How about having a Halloween party and dressing up? Let me know! I hope everyone is having a spectacular day!

Just a bit of Happiness

I have set the table for me and you. We will at lunch on a Sunday afternoon at two. Don't be late because that will make me said. Bring art and I will be glad!

Lately I have been buying lots of dishes and glassware at thrift stores around town. Some of my latest aquirements would be the vintage aluminum cake pan that has a wooden acorn knob with acorn detailing around the side of it. It is quite cute! I have also been trying to find vintage fine china pieces to add to my collection for when I move out. Recently, I have gotten little berry bowls with the tiniest floral print around the edge. I have also been finding some of the smaller plates. My favorite pattern so far would be the Crown Victoria Lovelace pattern. The slight white lace pattern on top of a white plate adds that bit of sweetness we all need in our lives. I went to the McKee Thrift Store in Downtown Loveland a few days ago, and found a beautiful serving plate and serving dish for just $3! What a steal!

My school held an art show on April 3oth which featured a lot of my art that I have created this school year. In just this year, I have taken Metalsmithing I, Drawing I, Drawing II, and Sculpture I. I was bound to have something in the art show. The pictures below are some of my favorite pages of the altered book I created in Drawing II.

This page has scrapbooking paper, lace, and a silk flower on it and was left blank so that I could draw or right on it.

This page has a foreshortened drawing assignment cut and pasted onto the page. The man and women are drawn with Prismacolors. If you want to add color to your life, Prismacolors are a great way to do that. They are so vibrate and bold, they can turn a boring piece of art into something amazing!

This page is the last page in the book. The yellow page is a two inch deep cut out with a quote in one of the last pages of The Great Gatsby.

The man that was featured on the original page looked like the 'boring man' in The Rocky Horror Picture Show. I decided I would take advantage of that and create a page devoted to just that.

This is a drawing I did in Drawing II that was about the communication between the alive and the dead. I created this drawing in one night. The night before it was due actually.

I did this drawing in Drawing I which is The Rocky Horror Picture Show. This drawing probably took me the longest out of them all.

From the left: Dad, me, Nate, and my nephew, Hunter. We were all at the Loveland High School art show.

An octopus type ceramic sculpture I created in Sculpture I.

February Was Wonderful!

Quite a few important things happened during the month of February! I want to thank everyone that has made all of the exciting events possible.
One of my managers at work made me the cutest cake ever for my birthday! Since I worked on my birthday, she brought the cake to work and I shared it with the rest of my coworkers. That night, I was working Rocky Horror Picture Show as the host. I dressed up as Magenta and that is the reason there is an "m" on the cake rather than a "k".

On my birthday, I went to my dad's house in the morning in made homemade donuts. That is one of my favorite things that my dad and I do together. They turned out great!!!

A week or so before I turned 17, my mom finally let me get the tattoo that I have wanted for around three years now. My tattoo is of Johnny Schou's signature. Johnny Schou is the bassist from Tickle Me Pink that passed away. The tattoo was done by Toby Wallace at Tobi's Tattoo Studio. Sean, the lead singer of Tickle Me Pink, actually prepped me for the tat.
