Do I Have the Plague?!

Well today has been interesting to say the least. I had to get my blood drawn at the hospital and I have been dreading it! Something about the thought of them stabbing a needle into your vein to take out vile after vile of blood just doesn't sound that enjoyable to me. Not sure why. So when my mom and I arrived at the hospital, they had us sit in the waiting room. We only waited for a few minutes but when they came to get us, the lady was holding a mask for me to wear because they were testing me for Whooping Cough. Well obviously I don't have Whooping Cough because I haven't really coughed much lately and wouldn't I have infected lots of people seeing as I work at the MOVIE THEATRE! I just could not stop laughing because of how hilarious this situation was with the mask. I was preparing myself to see the doctors wearing the bird- like masks with the herbs in the beak to not get the disease like they did during the Black Plague! Well anyways, they took us to the lab and told me I was going to get my blood drawn and that they wanted to do a nasal test! We nixed the nasal test! They didn't wear the mask but it sure would have been funnier if they had.

Day Full of Memories

Today I first started the morning by stopping at an estate sale in Loveland. I bought a vintage hairstyling school supply case, an interesting vintage Christmas giraffe that is red, and some President Ronald Reagan buttons.

After I bought some lovely items at the estate sale, I ventured over to the old neighborhood. I wanted to visit my friends Kirah, Kayla, Shelby, and Diana. I hadn't seen Kirah or Kayla in over a year. While I was there Kirah and I went to Diana's house and talked to her. Diana gave me a Michael Jackson skeleton that she bought for me in Mexico. It is great! Kirah and I even decided to try the apples in her trees. The tiny ones tasted BITTER and of many pesticides while the larger green apples only had a slight after taste of pesticides. Overall, I enjoyed talking to my friends and catching up with them since I hadn't seen them for a while. I decided to take a picture of the perfect apple from Diana's orchard although I pretty much forgot to take any pictures of me with my friends. How brilliant of me! Not! How you had a day full of memories like I did!

Let's Make Every Moment Special

Today has been one of the long ones. I started my morning at my best friend Emily's house at 7:15 in the morning. Today was WaterWorld Day! We arrived at WaterWorld before it opened and stayed until they closed at 6:00 in the evening. It was not JUST WaterWorld Day, it was the FIRST time I had ever stepped foot in WaterWorld! And oh was it a great one! I rode quite a few rides, I scrapped my knee on the least scary ride there, accidentally showed an innocent bystander by breast because it popped out as I got onto a tube, and last but not least got my tube stuck to the hottest guy in the Lazy River's tube. It was quite embarrassing. I also had a bee land on my head which is considered to be good luck! I didn't get many pictures of my adventures but I did take a snap shot of myself when I got home; my hair all messy from the water.

When I got home, I received a message from Gwyn, my stepmother, that I got a package in the mail from my Aunt Julie that had some bees stamped on the box and other insects as well. Could it be? Could I have really gotten a present out of good luck that I got from a bee landing on me? It is true, or at least I believe so!

Inside this box of wonder withheld treasures of which only artsy people could enjoy. When I tore away the tape from the box it was shipped in, I saw a small white envelope that said 'Kassie' on the front in cursive. I opened that which held a vintage-style kitty card that said," Remember that each day and week of your life is making your life's tapestry. Each strand on it's own may not be interesting but when you look at a finished portion of that tapestry- your life is a beautiful and interesting piece of art. 16 is a good place to be!" What a wonderful, heart-felt card to give to someone, especially when they have been going through times like myself. I carefully unwrapped the many layers of beautiful packing that was so delicately places into the box. When I undid them all, there it was, a Reader's Digest novel with a hole in the center that was filled with a tapestry that covered mounds of wonderful delight. There were chains and charms, and just plain bizarre items inside! That was not the only thing I received in my box of wonder. I also got more tapestries which when unveiled, revealed clasps and other mechanics of jewelry which always comes in handy seeing that I am the jewelry woman, as well as a Starbucks After Coffee Mints tin that had a wonderful necklace inside! There was a Steampunk book in there as well which talks about making Steampunk jewelry, Steampunk sculptures, as well as mentions a few bands that follow that style. Matter of fact, I had just visited a website that had a picture of the book but I had never found it in person.

It seems as though all the makings of today have made it wonderful! Thank you very much to all involved it really was a blast! (i.e.- Auntie Julie, Emily, Brenda, Kenzie, Mrs. Rhodes, Dory, Mom, Ron, Dad, and Gwyn) I hope every one's July 19th, 2010 was as memorable as mine.

Changes

So I have been experiencing lots of change over these last few months. For instance, I moved to a different town which will cause me to go to a different high school. I will have to make all new friends which I am not sure if I really want to do that. In my new house I have a smaller bedroom which is quite irritating because I have lots of things that fill it up. My dad owns a thrift store called the Funky Monkey. Well, he is closing it. I also broke up with my boyfriend that I had for almost three years and I am kind of lost now. My life is changing. I even made a facebook page and I absolutely HATE facebook. Oh not to forget that I work at the movies which was owned by Keresotes and has just been bought out by AMC. This means that all of the registers change, policies change, combos change, people working there change, and we get a lot more angry customers because the prices went up. I hope that it all works out but for right now I am freaking out from this all.
