The Promanade

So the Prom is coming up for me. Actually it is May 1st; quite late compared to the rest of the high schools around here. I have just a few tips for this year's Prom or even to keep in mind for next year.

The Invite:
The first thought would be the way he should ask you to the Prom. It should be romantic and make you feel as if you are the only girl in the world. Some ideas for the guy would have to be:
-If you are not the creative type you could ask her by just simply saying, "will you go to the Prom with me?" That would be somewhat boring but it is more that just ASSUMING she is going!!
- Another idea would be to make a poster and put if in the school somewhere that is frequently passed by the girl you are wishing to go with. Hopefully she will return with the answer in a poster as well.
- My favorite way that I personally would like to be asked would be to take your date to get dinner. While there, pull out a box that with holds a locket that says, "Prom?" engraved into the back of it. This is not only a cute way of asking someone out to the Prom but it provides the girl with a necklace to wear to the dance. It also is something that she can wear anytime and it will always make her think of that day.

The Dress:
Pick a color that looks good on you. And pick a style that looks good on your body, not just one that is instyle that year. I believe that you really shouldn't spend very much on a dress either. Why not just get a friend that wears the same size and switch dresses for the next dance. You could always alter it in a certain way to make it your own.

How to go from work to Prom:
Since this is what I have to do this year I have decided to write about it. Hopefully it works. I personally have quite long hair that is very pretty when it is curly. Naturally I have straight hair though. I work at a movie theatre and usually have to wear my hair up so it doesn't get in the food or anything. Prom is from 8:00pm- 11:00pm. I happen to work from 1:30pm- 8:00pm. Now I have to switch from work to beautiful for Prom. I will take my hair down and it should be quite wavy by then. I will take the front sides and twist them in the back. Hopefully I will have a pretty hair accessory to place in my hair to hold it together. I will go from day to night by adding a bit of shadow to my eyelids and a bit of lipstick on.

With my tips I hope your Prom will be spectacular!!! Have a great day!!

Happy Easter in Kassieland

So Easter was a few days ago but I have been so busy that I hadn't gotten around to putting up a blog post about the eggs that Gwyn and I made. In the picture on the top, you have the three eggs that Gwyn and I made. These ones happen to be hollowed eggs so we can keep them for as long as we can until they break. To the left is mine that I made. He is a bit inspired by Humpty- Dumpty. In the middle there is the Gnome egg that was created by both Gwyn and myself. I came up with the idea, drew the face, made the jacket, and actually made the shoes. Gwyn found the materials for it all, did a lot of the gluing, and made the hat. On the right hand side is Gwyn's egg. He was originally going to be a purple fox and that is why he has such a long tail. She then changed her mind and created the cute little bunny with a button hat.
The picture below the first one is of my Easter basket that the "Easter Bunny" gave to me early so that I could use the basket in an Easter egg hunt. Inside the basket there were three packages of Peeps, both the bunny and chick, Reeses eggs, and some chocolate marshmallow bunny treats.
The last but I believe the trippiest picture of them all is the eggs that Gwyn painted. She made them speckled and I thought that the heat coloring would just enhance them. On Easter we actually used the eggs to make deviled eggs.
I hope everyone had a wonderful, bunny- filled Easter!!!
Oh by the way, on Saturday I brought in a bit of jewelry, that my best friend Emily convinced me to get rid of, to my Dad's store. The jewelry is where I make my most money. :) Well anyways, one of the rings that I had gotten for around forty cents, I found out is a REAL diamond ring! I took it to a pawn shop to get it appraised, and the man said that it is a half carat diamond and the ring is worth between $450 and $600! And the ring was dirty! He said that it might be more but the ring was so dirty so he couldn't see it well enough.
Hope everyone has the luck that I did that day :)
